The game of ra consists of a wooden table that has different holes where the figure of a ra with an open mouth, some wickets or some posts are placed. Normally these figures are made of cast iron. To throw, we need small iron disks called pellos.
Each player has to throw the pellos from a mark marked on the chan that cannot be stepped on. You must hit these pellos into one of the bucks that will have a score previously agreed among the players. Normally the figure that is worth the most is the ra, after that, the wickets and the pontos would be of lesser value.
It can be played individually, in pairs or in teams.
History
This game comes from very old, already the Exiptians, Greeks and Romans played something similar, which consisted of trying to introduce stones into the mouth of an amphora.
The game of ra is a very popular traditional game throughout the Iberian Peninsula. If you like this game and you have good aim, in Asturias they hold competitions where you can sign up.
